Dave Quarin
Three weeks ago we lost Dave Quarin. Dave was a guy everyone seemed to have worked with and loved. Everyone seemed to have a “Dave Quarin story” as well. He meant a lot to a lot of people.
It’s been hard for me to say goodbye to Dave. Some deaths hit harder than others. You never know how hard you’re gonna get hit until the death happens. This one has been hard.
I find myself thinking of him a lot - can’t seem to get him out of my mind. We weren’t actively close, but there was always a love and respect there between us. That kind of stuff is impossible to replace - you can’t just go out and find someone else to fill a loss like that.
Death in itself is so damn final. The person is just gone all of a sudden - no more chances to talk, to laugh, to commiserate. They’re just gone. It sucks.
I don’t know what Dave would want from me. I guess he’d want me to keep playing, keep teaching, keep loving. That’s all I can do anyway.
Dave, I miss you.
